Hi, my name is Kieran Zhané. I was born & raised in Bristol, UK, and I have an eye for detail. In January 2017, I wanted to gain an insight into the creative industry and started with photography. I shadowed award-winning photographers at events & learned what it takes to do business in a creative industry. From this, I worked with a wide range of clients to build my experience refine my processes and confidence to form my own creative collective in 2017. I actively work with student creatives across the UK to develop their skills through mentorship, paid work opportunities and training. Today, our team of creatives stretches the UK and we have worked with a wide range of clients from individuals & small businesses to multi-national giants.

Kieran started by offering services for weddings & portraits in 2017, later offering a more comprehensive range of event photography in 2018. Weddings, portraits & events are known as core projects, and these remain a common specialty in our team today 7 years on.

To date, over 95% of these clients are recurring or have been referred by previous clients, and we have lovely testimonials from our incredible clients who can sell us more than we ever could.

In 2019, we started working on larger projects with businesses ranging wildly from start-up cafés & restaurants to military airforce teams for advertising campaigns, video projects & creative consulting. Since 2019, we have grown the B2B arm of the business, and the success of these projects gives us great energy and optimism, growing our company to work with many more clients and on larger-scale projects in the future.

This year I started to work with a greater number of creatives to take on larger projects. We worked with the best freelance photographers, videographers & creatives to ensure the projects exceeded our client's expectations. With a 'no job is too small mindset' for our client's needs, our projects have ranged in size from website SEO optimisation & social media management to national advertising materials.

In 2020, we adapted to the pandemic, retained every client, and put our clients first. We began offering digital consulting to charities & start-ups looking to use the opportunity to grow in a new way during the pandemic. We helped small business grow their digital footprint to reach new clients when the world shifted online. We continued to serve our recurring clients in new ways to maintain business relationships & continued to adapt our core projects to meet ever-changing guidelines. Our creative consulting arm of the business grew exponentially, and we have consulted on projects ranging from in-house training videos to advertising materials, and social media strategy. From making a Zoom call/interview look professional & increasing the production quality or conveying a brand identity over time to customers, we did it.

In 2021, we hit the ground running to work with the most clients we ever had in a single year. Our popularity crashed our booking system when our newsletter went out to our clients. This crash was a wake-up call and forced us to refine our processes and either grow the business to take on additional capacity or become more selective over our projects. We did both. We opened our availability further and implemented new processes & automation while focusing on what matters most for my business. We pulled back from social media posting & outreach to focus on my current client journey and experience as our business is still ~ 95% client referrals since 2017.

In 2023, we expanded our team and we now have two main hubs in the UK at opposite ends of England. This change increases our availability for clients and means we can better serve our clients in the North while still maintaining our existing client base. This has been very successful and we aim to grow the number of clients we have in the North over the coming years. 2023 was a consolidation year for our business while we went through this expansion & grew our network of creatives. We mutually decided to cease operations in November 2023 due to personal time commitments in across the team however, we still regularly work together and maintain these connections to benefit our wider networks.

In December 2023, Kieran Zhané started the new business: KZ Captured Moments. KZ Captured Moments is a house of brands: KZ Captured Moments, Get The Shot & PhotographyMenotring.co.uk. KZ Captured Moments is the Event & Wedding Photography brand, Get The Shot is the sports photography brand and PhotographyMentoring.co.uk is the educational development arm dedicated to uplifting the creative community and transforming the business into the first UK Creative Talent Development Agency. I am investing more of my time in social media content & content creation to grow this arm of the business and worked with 42 clients in 2024. I also launched my first print store! This was a big milestone I have held back from for years to ensure I have the quality experience my clients expect which represents my brands.

Another milestone in the latter half of 2024 was the launch of my mentoring program available exclusively in the North-East. The mentorship aimed to upskill students & young professionals in how they can develop their craft while gaining paid creative work opportunities. This has been a great success so far and I can’t wait to share the outcomes of the mentorship program next year ready for our next bigger cohorts in 2025.
